Monster Trucks: The Big Race Sketches

Here’s some of the original rough sketches for Monster Trucks: The Big Race. We don’t often show our sketch work as its generally very messy but we thought you guys might like to see these!
We usually draw very rough version of the page / piece in pencil first, then use this as the basis for the first ‘proper’ sketch – which is what these pics are. These are then scanned in ready to be taken into illustrator for final artwork. You can see on these sketches comments and tweaks from the editor and author too.
This image is part of a pack that the lovely guys at Digital Arts Online used to make a feature about Monster Trucks, the working processes behind it, and why we were so excited to create a children’s book. You can check out the mini-interview / feature on their site here. Thanks a lot guys!

Monster Trucks: The Big Race!

It’s been several years in the making, but we’re very proud to announce that our first picture book ‘Monster Trucks: The Big Race’ is going to be published on July 3rd!
Yup – this Thursday!
Written by our super-talented friend Jon Hinton and published by the lovely folk at Scholastic Children’s Books, The Big Race is the first in a new series of fast-paced, big-wheeled racing romps that follow Bolt, Chunk, Roxy, Fizz, Newton and Masher as they rev off on exciting adventures in a crazy world full of fun, laughter and a few spills along the way.

The book will be available from good bookshops worldwide from July 3rd!

Dripple Series One BOOM AND POW!!!

Revealed a couple of days back (we’re late as usual!!) – Dripple Series One is an AMAZING collection of figure designs steeped in oldschool goodness, by a group of friends all of whom go back a long long way. Put together by the one and only Sket-One and The Mighty Jaxx the toy series should be as amazing as the story that is behind them. (you can read up on that online!)
The kickstarter already reached its first goal in record time – BOOOOOM! but there’s still so much more to do! You can find out more about the project at www.drippletoy.com and find out how you can get involved and what’s to come! We’re going to be working on some special incentives for the guys at Mighty Jaxx to help bring this series to your shelves.

Toycon UK Goodies Online Monday 28th April, 4PM!

Panda Otaku… and Piggle Otaku 2014!

It’s been a very busy start to the new year here, and one of the projects we can share with you guys is a new Panda Otaku collaboration we’ve been working on with our good friend and long-time partner in mischief Nick Hunter. If you’ve been keeping an eye on our Instagram feed you’ll have seen the magical work in progress pics we’ve been posting from Nicks studio, and we’ll be updating with more once we get the paints out soon.
We’re aiming to have the first batch of Pandas and Piggles ready for Toycon UK in April, and we’ll be working on a way to make them available online at the same time too.
