We were extremely proud and excited to be asked to help out with coming up with some suitably awesome medals for this years Peaty’s Steel City Downhill mountain bike race here in Sheffield.
The race is run by a whole bunch of local fanatics with backing from the Wildlife Trust, and World Downhill Champion and multiple World Cup winning legend and local hero Mr Steve Peat at the head of it all. Together they managed to raise a phenomenal amount of money for local charities.
The build up to the race was fantastic, with all the entrants sold out within a couple of hours of registration opening online. Local company Bike Track came up with an amazing course for the event and some incredible prizes were donated from the mountain biking community. The race itself was held on Saturday 21st of April, the weather was surprisingly brilliant and the spectators turned out in hoards to whoop and holla the racers onto victory.
We’d like to thank everyone at SteelCityMedia and ThisIsSheffield for inviting us to get involved, Mr Steve Peat for being a very nice chap indeed, the guys at CutLaserCut for all their help with making things happen.
Here’s some pictures from the day from Tom Richards, a full roundup of events, and an excellent little edit of the action from XtrailFilms.
